Dear Member,
We live in interesting times. While the sport changes, the problems at the Olympic Games and at Burghley, although completely different from each other, highlight the need to have highly trained officials, who can communicate well with each other and with organisers and competitors.
The Eventing Committee have not been slow to put in place certain safeguards and we must hope that these prove effective and workable in practice.
The IEOC has been working closely with the Eventing Committee to produce Eventing Course Assessment Forms.

The June meeting was held at the Melbourne International Horse Trials, 9 June 2005.
FEI RULE CHANGES Gill Rolton raised the issue of the ‘change of direction / approach to an obstacle” can be interpreted as clear or 20 penalties – difficult for jump judges Agreed that where such fences exist, the GJ / TD need to clarify at the riders briefing how it will be judged.
