Proposed Eventing Dressage Tests for 2009
The 'proposed' NEW Eventing dressage tests are available on the FEI Web site:
  • Click on Eventing [as a heading at the top]
  • Click on Dressage tests [on left]
  • Scroll down - and see the 2009 TESTS "Not Yet Implemented"
May I ask those of you who are judges / coaches / trainers etc., to look closely at ALL these tests?

If you can persuade some suitable riders to test them- then please see them 'ridden through'!

It's vitally important that these 2009 tests are 'judge friendly' - so that each judge has a good view, at whichever marker they may sit - and not as at present, when some test movements are rather difficult to judge  - particularly from the long side!

I would be grateful if you could pass back your comments to me [a.s.a.p.] so that I can 'collate' them, and send them to the FEI Eventing Committee.

Kindest regards,

Jean.

Please see this message, reference the decision of the Sport Committee of British Eventing to follow the lead of the FEI and introduce the 'one fall and out' rule for rider falls on the Cross Country phase at all National competitions, with effect from 1st August 2008.

The same rule will NOT apply to the show jumping, at present!

This is similar to the decision taken by the Board of Eventing Ireland, but which will start in Ireland on the 29th June 2008!

Important Message from Mike Tucker to the IEOC, on Monday 19th May 2008
The anxiety over safety in eventing particularly since the serious accidents that have taken place in the States this year, although as we all know it's not only there that has felt the trauma of these occcasions.  As a member of the FEI International Safety Committee I do want everyone to know that considerable efforts are being made to take the whole safety issue forward on a world-wide basis.

Changes in administration at the F.E.I are not making for an easy and speedy passage, but that does not mean that we are sitting back waiting for everything to happen. I for one, am constantly badgering to get what was agreed by 22 nations in Copenhagen in January, on the statute books and working, as I am convinced that this strategy is absolutely right. However, it isn't proving straight forward to get there, but we are winning on several counts.
